Ron Whittaker

Ron was Chief Executive of SATRA Technology Centre (a non profit-distributing research and testing organisation for consumer products) in Kettering for 16 years.  He is currently a non-executive Director and Deputy Chairman of SATRA. 
He represented the interests of Northamptonshire on the Board of the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA) for six years and is currently on the Board of North Northants Development Company (NNDC) who is the body responsible for housing development in North Northants.  He also has interests in innovation and the growth of small companies.

Ron is deeply involved in education in Northants and is currently Chairman of Governors at an outstanding Secondary School, a primary school governor and a member of NCC Schools Forum – the body which allocates funding to all schools in the County.  He is also an Honorary Fellow at the University of Northampton and has been involved in the funding of Further Education in Northants and Rutland. Ron is married and lives in Kettering.  His interests include photography, local heritage and industrial history.
