Spire Homes look to the future
Spire Homes celebrated a decade of ‘providing homes and
improving lives’ at its 10th Annual General Meeting
(AGM). But the meeting, which was followed by Spire’s People, Pride
and Community Awards, also heralded the introduction of Spire’s
plans for the future and the challenges which may lie ahead.
Julie Doyle, Managing Director of Spire Homes,
said: “As the cost of living gets more expensive, and unemployment
figures continue to rise, it is important for us at Spire Homes to
provide our tenants and local communities with as much support as
we can.
“We understand the importance of having a home
and of being a part of the community, so we work hard to make these
opportunities available to local people.”
She added: “For example, we know that young
people in particular can find it difficult to get on the property
ladder – but that is where we can make a difference, through
supporting communities and providing much-needed affordable new
homes.
“I believe that in a future filled with
benefit reform and budget cuts the success of Spire Homes depends
on us holding our values dear and using these as a touchstone for
future decisions.”
So to celebrate its communities and residents,
Spire closed it’s AGM with the annual People, Pride and Community
Awards. The purpose behind the awards, which features several
categories with one overall winner, is to recognise the local
residents who have gone the extra mile to make a difference to
people’s lives.
